Job summary

Crystalbrook Riley in Cairns is seeking an experienced Assistant Executive Housekeeper to lead our Housekeeping team in delivering luxury standards across guest rooms and public areas. You will mentor Supervisors, oversee cleaning programmes, and ensure cost-efficient operations on a daily basis.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will drive service excellence, supervise a team of Attendants, and step into a leadership role when needed to maintain guest satisfaction in a fast-paced

The Opportunity

Crystalbrook Riley is seeking an experienced Assistant Executive Housekeeper who takes pride in the details, brings out the best in people and understands how a beautifully maintained hotel shapes the entire guest journey.

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will play an integral role in the leadership and daily operation of the Housekeeping department. You will guide our Housekeeping Supervisors, alongside the broader team of Housekeeping Attendants and Public Areas Attendants, to deliver consistently high standards of presentation, professionalism and guest care.

You will coach and develop people, coordinate cleaning programs, monitor costs and resources and collaborate across the hotel to keep the operation moving seamlessly. In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, you will confidently take responsibility for the department, providing continuity, direction and support to the team.

This is a full-time opportunity to become a trusted second-in-command within Crystalbrook Riley’s Housekeeping operation. You will have the scope to influence team culture, strengthen departmental performance and make a visible impact on every guest’s experience of the resort.

You know how to set clear expectations, lift performance and support a diverse team through changing priorities. You are equally comfortable walking the floors, coaching a collaborator, reviewing departmental costs or partnering with another hotel leader to solve an operational challenge.

To Thrive In This Role, You Will Bring

• Proven Housekeeping experience within a luxury hotel or resort, including leadership or supervisory responsibility


• A strong understanding of guestroom presentation, public-area standards and daily Housekeeping operations


• An engaging and supportive leadership style, with the ability to inspire, motivate and guide a diverse team


• Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, resources and cost efficiencies without compromising quality


• Strong organisational skills, accountability and attention to detail


• Confidence using technology and hotel management systems to monitor performance and support decision-making


• A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the flexibility to respond to changing operational and guest requirements


• The ability to remain composed and professional under pressure while maintaining exceptional brand standards
