Job summary

My Best Me Early Learning Academy is seeking an experienced Assistant Director (2IC) to work closely with the Centre Director across operations, rostering, budgets and compliance. The role is a stepping stone to Centre Director with hands-on exposure while the director is present.

You’ll lead a passionate team and build strong relationships with families, guiding continuous improvement and ensuring high quality early childhood education. The role is based at Sans Souci, NSW.

Qualifications

• ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Degree required.
• Proven experience as Assistant Director / 2IC in early childhood.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a hands-on approach.
• Sound knowledge of EYLF and NQS.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Director with day-to-day operations, administration and compliance.
• Manage staff rosters and assist with budgets and financial processes.
• Lead and mentor a team of educators to deliver high-quality education and care.
• Build strong relationships with families from enquiry through to ongoing time with us.
• Promote reflective practice and continuous improvement.
• Step in as Centre Director when the Director is away to keep the centre running smoothly.

You’re already an experienced 2IC. You know the centre, the team and the families, and you’re ready for more. At My Best Me Early Learning Academy, you’ll work closely with an experienced Centre Director and get hands‑on experience across the whole Director role: operations, rostering, budgets, compliance and leading the team. My Best Me Early Learning Academy is a family‑owned and operated early learning service in Sans Souci, close to Kogarah and Hurstville. The role

As Assistant Director (2IC), you’ll be predominantly off the floor, working alongside the Centre Director to run the centre. You will:

• Support the Centre Director with day‑to‑day operations, administration and compliance with legislation and company policy

• Manage staff rosters and help oversee budgets and financial requirements

• Lead, mentor and inspire a passionate team of educators to deliver high‑quality education and care

• Build strong relationships with families, from their first enquiry through their child’s whole time with us

• Promote a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement

• Step in as Centre Director when the Director is away, so the centre keeps running smoothly

About you

• ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Degree or Diploma

• Proven experience as an Assistant Director / 2IC in early childhood

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, and a team that follows your lead

• Sound knowledge of the EYLF and the National Quality Standards (NQS)

• Excellent communication skills with families, children and the community

• A clear goal of becoming a Centre Director in the near future

• A thorough understanding of child protection legislation, mandatory reporting obligations and the NSW Child Safe Standards, and a strong commitment to every child’s safety, dignity and wellbeing

• A current Working with Children Check and First Aid certificate
