Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Geelong is seeking an Asset Management Coordinator to support maintenance, operational and capital works within the ACDP high‑containment facility. Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in asset management or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience governing compliance management for multiple high‑risk assets across a diverse property portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of legislation, regulation, codes across states/territories related to plant and equipment.
  • Extensive assets and compliance management experience in maintenance across multiple facilities.
  • Experience working in a biocontainment environment.
  • Computer literacy and experience with CMMS.
  • Ability to create and manage technical documentation.
  • Industry qualifications in asset and facilities management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide asset management advice to support maintenance, operations and capital works.
  • Coordinate asset lifecycle management and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage projects and asset activities from planning through to completion.
  • Support change management for critical facility infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement solutions for operational challenges.
  • Contribute to safe, reliable operation of the ACDP facility and its high‑containment environments.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports and recommendations for decision‑making.
  • Participate in an on‑call roster and respond to after‑hours issues when required.

The opportunity

Join CSIRO's Business & Infrastructure Services (B&IS) team at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong. The ACDP is one of the world's most advanced high-containment research facilities, enabling scientists to safely undertake research on some of the most significant infectious agents globally.

As the Asset Management Coordinator, you will provide professional asset management advice and technical support across maintenance, operational, capital improvement and change management activities. Working within the Maintenance Mechanical team, you will collaborate with engineering and operational stakeholders to ensure the ongoing integrity, reliability and performance of critical facility assets and systems.

This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong technical judgement, project management capability and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Your high-level duties will include:
  • Providing professional asset management advice to support maintenance, operational and capital works activities.
  • Coordinating and supporting asset lifecycle management and improvement initiatives.
  • Managing projects and asset-related activities from planning through to implementation and completion.
  • Supporting change management processes associated with critical facility infrastructure.
  • Working closely with engineering teams to identify and implement solutions to operational and maintenance challenges.
  • Contributing to the safe and reliable operation of the ACDP facility and its high-containment environments.
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Participating in an on-call roster and responding to after-hours issues when required.

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in asset management or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant work experience in asset, facility and compliance management.
  • Experience and ability in governing compliance management processes for multiple complex high-risk assets in a diverse property portfolio context across all States and Territories.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, codes and recommendations across all States and Territories associated with plant and equipment.
  • Extensive experience in assets and compliance management, in an asset maintenance context across multiple facilities.
  • Experience working in a biocontainment environment.
  • Industry qualification in asset management fundamentals.
  • Industry qualification in facilities management fundamentals.
  • Computer literate and conversant in the use of computerised maintenance management systems.
  • Competence in the application of Risk Management techniques
  • Experience in creation and management of technical documentation.
