Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Financial Accountant - Assets to ensure asset records are accurate, compliant and audit-ready, supporting reliable financial reporting and long-term planning.

You will coordinate capital projects from work-in-progress to completion, maintain asset master data, perform month-end journals and reconciliations, and assist with year-end statements in line with NSW Office of Local Government requirements.

Qualifications

• Asset accounting and financial reporting
• Experience coordinating capital projects and asset management
• Ability to support audit readiness and statutory reporting

Responsibilities

• Coordinate accounting for capital projects from work-in-progress to completion
• Maintain asset master data and perform month-end journals
• Assist with year-end financial statements and audits
• Record asset additions, disposals, transfers and revaluations with engineering/asset teams
