Job summary

SIXT Australia is seeking an Area Manager to lead our North Lakes and Burpengary locations on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on coaching teams, delivering service excellence, managing rostering and fleet availability, and achieving KPIs across both sites.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams within car rental, transport, logistics or related operations.
• Proven ability to coach staff, manage performance and drive accountability.
• Strong customer focus with ability to resolve escalations.
• Comfortable with KPIs, budgets, productivity and reporting.
• Able to prioritise, solve operational challenges and keep operations running.
• Willing to support frontline operations and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of the North Lakes and Burpengary locations.
• Coach and develop team members to achieve customer service, sales and ops targets.
• Build a positive, accountable, high-performing team culture with regular feedback.
• Resolve customer escalations and support on-ground teams to deliver outstanding service.
• Manage rostering, productivity and labour costs to meet needs.
• Support fleet planning and vehicle availability for smooth daily operations.
• Monitor KPIs and branch performance; implement action plans as required.
• Maintain safety, compliance and operational standards across both sites.

Your Skills

• Operational Leadership:Experience leading teams within car rental, transport,logistics, fleet, tourism, hospitality,accommodationor similar operational environments.


• People Leadership:Proven ability to coach staff, manage performance and create a culture of accountability and teamwork.


• Customer Focus:Experience handling customer issues, resolvingescalations,and driving positive service outcomes.


• Commercial Awareness:Comfortable working with KPIs, budgets, productivitymeasuresand operational reporting.


• Planning & Problem Solving:Able to manage competing priorities, solve operationalchallenges,and keep operations running smoothly.


• Hands-On Approach:Willing to support frontline operations whenrequiredand lead by example. This is not a desk-based leadership role.

Car rental experience will be highly regardedbutis not essential.

All successful applicants must complete a National Criminal History Check, hold a current full driver’slicence, and have full Australian working rights.
