Job summary

Telwater is seeking apprentice and experienced welders to join the Coomera welding team in a full-time role. Opportunity to develop skills while building our iconic aluminium boat range.

Role supports apprenticeship with Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication) and operates 6:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime. Pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing required.

Qualifications

• Part way through apprenticeship or completed Certificate II Engineering Pathways.
• Welding experience with MIG and/or TIG is desirable.
• Commitment to meeting build timeframes and producing quality welds.
• Able to operate power tools, band saws, and welders.
• Physically fit for a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Join welding team in Coomera on a full-time basis.
• Fabricate and assemble aluminium boats.
• Meet production timelines and quality standards.
• Learn and develop welding skills through on-the-job training.

About the role

Are you part way through your apprenticeship and looking for a new challenge? Or have you completed Certificate II Engineering Pathways and looking for an apprenticeship? Maybe an experienced welder that would like to be recognised and gain your trade certificate? Telwater has full-time permanent opportunities for a skilled, semi-skilled or entry level welder to join our welding team, based in Coomera. Great opportunity to further develop your skills and learn how to build our iconic range of boats.

Apprenticeship opportunities will be under the Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication) qualification.

This is a physically demanding role working 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime.

Desired Skills and Experience

What we are looking for:

• Ability to learn how to fabricate and buildaluminium boats
• MIG and/or TIG welding skillswould be highly desirable
• Completed Certificate II Engineering or Engineering pathways course highly desirable.
• Work towards, and maintain allocated build time frames to ensure the smooth flow of production
• With training, produce neat and quality welds daily
• Use of equipment such as power tools, pneumatic tools, band saws, hand tools and welders
• Be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Have fun, learn every day and challenge yourself.
