Job summary

J & P Richardson Industries is offering an Apprenticeship for a Sheetmetal Fabricator in Brisbane's Wacol area. You will complete a nationally recognised Certificate III while learning practical fabrication skills from experienced tradespeople.

We welcome school leavers and aspiring tradespeople who enjoy hands-on work, attention to detail and safety. The program provides company tools, PPE and a clear path across Australia within VINCI Energies.

Qualifications

• Year 12 completed with solid Maths and English results.
• Enrolment or completion of Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication Trade is desirable.
• Attitude to learn practical fabrication and engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Sheet metal fabrication and working with fabrication equipment.
• Measuring, marking, cutting, bending and shaping materials.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Using hand tools and power tools safely.
• Assembling and fitting fabricated components.
• Welding and finishing techniques as directed.
• Adhering to safety and workshop practices.
• Collaborating with teams on project tasks.

Actemium Australia is looking for motivated school leavers and aspiring tradespeople to join our 2027 Apprenticeship Program as an Apprentice Sheetmetal Fabricator.

You’ll complete a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification while learning practical fabrication and engineering skills alongside experienced tradespeople.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Sheet metal fabrication
• Measuring, marking, cutting, bending and shaping materials
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
• Assembling and fitting fabricated components
• Welding and finishing techniques
• Checking finished work for accuracy and quality
• Following safe workshop and manufacturing practices
• Working as part of professional workshop and project teams

You’ll have the opportunity to build your confidence and technical skills while working on a variety of fabrication projects

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You don’t need previous industry experience. We’re interested in your attitude, practical curiosity and willingness to learn.

To be considered, you will:

• Have completed, or be completing, Year 12
• Have sound results in Maths and English
• Hold, or be working towards, a manual driver’s licence
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, a White Card
• Experience with engineering, manufacturing, graphics, design, metalwork, automotive studies, technical drawing, workshop subjects or a school-based trade program will be well regarded, but is not essential.
