Job summary

Lactalis Australia in Bendigo is seeking a first-year Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join the Maintenance team. You will learn to install, repair and maintain mechanical plant, read drawings, weld, and work with production to minimize downtime.

You're expected to start a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, stay safety-minded and communicate well with colleagues. The role offers a clear pathway to a qualified trade with a global employer.

Apprentice Maintenance Fitter (first year)

About the role

We're looking for a motivated first-year apprentice fitter to join our Maintenance team. You'll report to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical and work alongside experienced tradespeople. You'll learn to:

• Install, repair and maintain mechanical plant and equipment.
• Help install and commission new machinery.
• Weld (Oxy, TIG and MIG), machine and fabricate parts.
• Read technical drawings, manuals, and pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and report hazards.
• Work with production to keep downtime to a minimum.

About you

• Keen to start a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
