Hilton in Sydney is offering an apprentice cook role within our Hotels kitchen team. You will gain hands-on experience under seasoned chefs, developing foundational culinary skills while contributing to smooth kitchen operations and guest experiences.

The program requires enrolment in a recognised Australian TAFE Commercial Cookery course and a passion for cooking. You’ll work closely with teammates in a fast-paced environment and participate in daily prep, plating, and service tasks.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen enrolled in a recognised TAFE Commercial Cookery course as part of apprenticeship.
• Strong passion for cooking and food preparation.
• Willingness to learn basic kitchen techniques and procedures.
• Works well with others in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Comfortable with changing tasks and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Set up, clean, organize, and stage equipment, including hot boxes and stations.
• Develop basic culinary techniques and knife skills.
• Assist with inventory: receiving deliveries and storing stock.
• Help with plating, dish-ups, and transporting prepared items.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation daily.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol regulations.
