Job summary

East Grampians Health Service invites applications for an Apprentice Carpenter to join our maintenance team across the Ararat and Willaura campuses. This is a full-time, 4-year apprenticeship designed to combine hands-on carpentry work with study at trade school.

You will be supervised by the Maintenance Coordinator and gain experience in building and maintenance, including involvement in on-site capital projects. Immunisation clearance and employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Reliable and enthusiastic individual.
• Interest in the building trade.
• Willingness to commit up to 4 years and attend trade school.
• Weekly schedule of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Work and study in the workplace to develop carpentry skills.
• Assist with entry level carpentry duties under supervision.
• Participate in on-site capital development projects as opportunities arise.

About The Role

• Working at EGHS full time, this apprenticeship requires candidates to work and study in the workplace to develop highly sought after skills required to be a Carpenter.
• This qualification will provide the successful applicant with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively perform the entry level roles and responsibilities of a Carpenter.
• You will be trained under the supervision of our Maintenance Coordinator in varied aspects of building and maintenance including opportunities to be involved in on site capital development projects.

About You

• Reliable, enthusiastic and interested in the building trade.
• Demonstrate commitment up to 4 years, attendance at trade school and weekly work schedule of 40 hours per week.

Appointment is subject to immunisation clearance and current and satisfactory Employment Checks (Police and Working With Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Check).
