Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Lead Employment Counsel to build the legal foundations for our APAC workforce. You will partner with the People team and business leaders to design and run employment programs across Asia-Pacific, ensuring compliance and scalable processes as our regional presence grows.

You will serve as the primary employment lawyer for APAC, shaping policies, handling disputes, and advising on market entry, contractor classifications, and employee data privacy.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of employment law experience in law firms and in-house.
• Experience advising on employment laws across Japan, Korea, India, Australia and Singapore.
• Creative and pragmatic in developing legal solutions for rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary employment lawyer for Anthropic's APAC region, partnering with People and business leaders.
• Build and maintain the legal infrastructure for APAC jurisdictions including Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore and India.
• Advise on market entry, contractor classification, headcount thresholds, and employer of record arrangements.
• Collaborate with Compensation, Benefits, and Equity teams to ensure scalable, compliant programs.
• Guide employee relations matters and lead regional disputes in coordination with outside counsel.
• Track regional legal developments and translate them into practical guidance.
• Develop scalable templates, playbooks, and training for stakeholders.
