About The Team

Community Operations (CommOps) is the heart and soul of our #BuildWithHeart approach at Uber. We work with customers, people earning money on the platform, and various partners (regulators, unions, external parties) at enormous scale. CommOps helps operationalise every new and existing product and idea that Uber comes up with - it’s an organisation that touches every part of Uber!

You will be a part of Global Compliance & Access Operations team, ensuring our processes, policies, products are compliant with the prevailing norms of the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) while delivering empathetic, timely and relevant support to the users on the Uber platform.

About The Role

You will lead the core compliance / regulatory program in APAC, primarily Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). You will cover long-term strategy creation to execution, ensuring the programs are delivered on time, within scope and to a high standard. The role also covers regulatory support for Taiwan. You will also act as a Platform Integrity (PI) POC / Leader for ANZ Leadership, managing areas of Safety, Regulatory / Compliance, and Escalated Deactivation Review (EDR) process via direct reports & PI cross-functional (XFN) teams.

What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership and Program Ownership
  • Serve as the primary leader for APAC Compliance Ops, overseeing regulatory / compliance initiatives (mainly in ANZ, and TW).
  • Robust program management for ANZ EDR and generating insights that can set the baseline for global investigation standards and deactivation best practices.
  • Define governance, processes and clear success metrics for the programs and ensure their delivery.
  • Drive process standardisation, streamline workflows, and enable process / policy improvements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as senior POC / leader for ANZ LT, managing areas of Safety, Regulatory / Compliance, and EDR.
  • Partner closely with regional & global stakeholders (PI, Legal, Compliance, ANZ Industrial Relations, Safety Program Leads, Safety Ops, as needed) to ensure seamless execution of priorities.
  • Foster strong partnerships to ensure priorities are effectively addressed and aligned across functions.
  • Manage XFN meetings and newsletters to ensure seamless alignment across stakeholders.
Regional-Global Liaison
  • Act as the bridge between regional and global teams, working closely with PI, Globla Deactivation Escalation (GDE), Global Actioning Program, etc., to implement initiatives that reflect the unique needs of the APAC region.
  • Identify regional requirements and influence global priorities to ensure the effective adoption of global safety and enablement strategies.
  • Advocate for APAC-specific innovations, regulatory considerations, and cost efficiencies to ensure the region's needs are reflected in global strategies.
Impactful Program Expansion and Team Enablement
  • Play a critical role in scaling regs / compliance projects and ensuring initiatives align with regional and global objectives.
  • Drive team efficiency projects, including promoting tech adoption for streamlined workflows and leading Pulse initiatives to measure and enhance team sentiment.
