Job summary

RSPCA NSW is seeking an Animal Care Attendant to deliver daily care and welfare management for animals in our shelters and rehabilitation sites. You will work on-site, maintain shelter cleanliness, monitor health, provide enrichment, and support adoption programs under our shelter standards.

The role requires compassion, reliability, and good teamwork. Experience with animal handling is essential, and you will collaborate with veterinary staff and volunteers to ensure high welfare outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months animal handling experience.
• Qualification in Animal Care or related discipline.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Physical fitness and emotional resilience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional animal care in accordance with RSPCA NSW Shelter Standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and disease control of animal areas.
• Ensure welfare through daily interaction, exercise, and enrichment.
• Administer food, grooming, and veterinary support for animals.
