Job summary

Spinner Medical Recruitment is seeking a Staff Specialist/Consultant Anaesthetist to deliver high-quality anaesthetic care across Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals in Queensland. You will contribute to governance, teaching and research while supporting a balanced on-call roster and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Hold FANZCA or have equivalent overseas qualifications, suitable to be either substantial or partial comparability.
• Applicants trained in Ireland or UK will be highly regarded.
• Have first class communication skills at a clinical level with an ability to develop excellent working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Have a willingness to take part in the on-call roster.
• Have a commitment to research and clinical governance.
• Enjoy leadership and your role within a multidisciplinary team.

Hervey Bay and Maryborough are located on Queensland’s beautiful Fraser Coast and offer a fantastic coastal lifestyle. Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service delivers healthcare across the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg and surrounding rural communities, supporting a population of more than 225,000 people. An opportunity is available for a Staff Specialist/Consultant Anaesthetist.

The anaesthetics service currently operates with strong specialist support and well-established surgical and perioperative services. You will be working across Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals, delivering high-quality anaesthetic care while also contributing to the ongoing development of the service across the region.

Your Role

Remuneration package highlights

• Total remuneration package of up to $548k per year, depending on experience and classification. This will increase to up to $571k from July 2027. The package includes:
• Motor Vehicle allowance $23-$28k depending on salary band - paid.
• 3.6 weeks professional development leave.
• $22k professional development allowance - paid.
• Very generous salary sacrifice arrangements
• Employer paid tax free pension contributions - 12.75%
• Opportunity to undertake private practice at St Stephens Private Hospital in Hervey Bay, allowing you to complement your public hospital role with private work.
