Xephyr in Melbourne is seeking a mid-level Analytics Engineer to design and build end-to-end data pipelines, turning client data into trusted analytics and dashboards for decision making. You will work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into a semantic model that powers self-serve analytics.

You’ll deliver dashboards across the modern data stack, collaborating with data engineers, data scientists and delivery leads, while following scalable engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on Analytics Engineer, BI Developer or Data Engineer experience.
• Strong SQL and experience with dbt and a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift).
• Experience designing semantic models or metrics layers from business needs.
• Experience with enterprise BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/Looker) for dashboards on a governed semantic layer.
• Confident running requirements workshops directly with business stakeholders.
• Understanding of data pipeline orchestration and ELT/ETL tooling.

Responsabilités

• Design and build end-to-end data pipelines: ingestion, transformation, semantic modelling to dashboards.
• Run requirements sessions with business to capture use cases and measures for the semantic model.
• Design and maintain semantic layers and dimensional models for self-serve analytics.
• Build and maintain dashboards and visualisations that answer business questions.
• Apply data modelling best practice with clear metric definitions and a reusable semantic layer.
• Work across the modern data stack (ELT tooling, orchestration, cloud data warehouses).
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, delivery leads and clients.
• Follow repeatable engineering processes (versioning, testing, CI/CD, documentation).
• Contribute reusable patterns and templates back into Xephyr's IP and Xavier product.
