Job summary

Lyka Pet Food Pty is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to drive data-driven decision-making across the business. You will partner closely with Analysts, Product and Engineering to build scalable data products and empower teams with self-service access to data via a semantic layer.

This role bridges data engineering and analytics, delivering fast, trustworthy insights through well-modeled data, robust pipelines, and intuitive dashboards that support growth and better pet health outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in data modelling, analytics engineering, or BI development.
• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with dbt, Airflow, and modern data warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Analysts, Product, and Engineering to design analytics-ready data models.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, and Python.
• Develop semantic layers and metrics definitions to support consistent reporting across BI tools.

The role:

As aData Analytics Engineerin Lyka\’s Data team, you\'ll be instrumental in enabling data driven decision-making across the business and uplifting our data capabilities. While you\'ll partner closely with Analyst, this role will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to build scalable data products, and empower teams with reliable, self-service access to data by building on the semantic layer.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you\'ll bridge the gap between data engineering and analytics — enabling fast, trustworthy insights through well-modelled data, intuitive tools, and robust pipelines.

What you\'ll do:

• Collaborate with Data Analysts, Product Managers, and Engineers to design and implementanalytics-ready data modelsthat enables data capabilities and decision-making.


• Build and maintainrobust, scalable data pipelinesusing tools like dbt, Airflow, and Python to transform raw data into clean, reliable datasets.


• Develop and optimisesemantic layers and metrics definitionsto support consistent reporting across BI and Analytic tools.


• Ensuredata quality, reliability, and performanceacross analytics workflows, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

• 1+ years experience indata modelling, analytics engineering, or BI development, ideally in fast-paced or high-growth environments.


• Strong proficiency inSQLand experience withdbt,Airflow, andmodern data warehouseslike Snowflake or BigQuery.


• Familiarity withBI tools(e.g., Looker, Tableau, Omni) and designing intuitive, scalable dashboards.


• A solid understanding ofdata lifecycle and analytics workflows, from ingestion to insight.


• Experience working cross-functionally with Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver impactful data solutions.


• Basic understanding and experience in using AI tools to optimise your day to day and improve processes
