Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking an Inventory Analyst to optimise stock levels across a large-scale mining operation. You’ll use data, reporting and stakeholder engagement to ensure critical spares and consumables are available when needed, while reducing excess inventory and improving working capital.

Based in Perth with hybrid working, you’ll partner with Maintenance, Supply Chain and operational teams to drive continuous improvement, maintain SAP master data accuracy, and deliver actionable insights

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management within mining, heavy industry or large-scale environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to turn data into practical outcomes.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate inventory records.
• Experience with reporting and IT systems; SAP experience is highly regarded.
• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Optimise inventory levels and stock parameters to ensure critical spares and consumables are available when needed while reducing excess inventory holdings.
• Analyse inventory performance and usage trends, providing reporting and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Manage inventory master data within SAP, maintaining high data accuracy and integrity.
• Identify and coordinate disposal of obsolete, surplus and slow-moving inventory to maximise value and improve working capital.
• Partner with Maintenance, Supply Chain and operations to understand requirements and resolve inventory issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while complying with policies, audits, and safety standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in inventory management within mining, heavy industry or a similar large-scale environment.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into practical business outcomes.


• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records.


• Reporting and IT skills, including the ability to quickly learn and utilise a range of inventory and business systems. SAP experience is highly regarded.


• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate outcomes and effectively challenge where required.


• A resilient, level-headed approach and the ability to work collaboratively across operational and support teams.
