Job description

About the role

We are looking for someone to join our Financial Crime Operations team as an AML Operations Analyst. You’ll spend your days making smart, timely calls on alerts that pop up in our analytics-driven monitoring systems, keeping an eye out for unusual patterns and behaviours, and working out what needs to be dug into, escalated, or reported.

You’ll jump between customer and payment screening, live payments and name screening, and the occasional regulatory reporting exception, all while keeping our obligations to AUSTRAC front and centre.

You’ll be part of a team that supports retail and institutional banking products, and you’ll collaborate closely with our friends in Financial Crime Compliance, Risk and Assurance to make sure the right things happen at the right time.

If you’ve used NetReveal on Demand (NROD), brilliant; if not, you’ll learn quickly with us. We care about quality and timeliness, so you’ll have clear priorities to work through each day, and space to contribute ideas that improve how we do what we do alongside the support of your team leader.

About you

You our preferred candidate – you are curious, calm under pressure, and happiest when you’re piecing together a story from messy data. Experience in screening or transaction monitoring is nice to have but not mandatory with Banking experience a must.

You’re ready to jump into financial crime with both feet. If you haven’t learnt the language of sanctions, PEPs and ECDD you will in this role alongside turning complex findings into clean, confident explanations that others can act on.

We want you to manage your own workload like a pro, meet commitments without a fuss, and you’re the teammate people trust when things are moving fast. If you’ve seen TTR or IFTI exceptions before, great. If you’ve got ACAMS, ICA or CCP on your CV, even better.

Most of all, you bring a positive, adaptable mindset and the kind of attention to detail that keeps our customers, our community and our brand safe.
