Job summary

Moray & Agnew Lawyers in Sydney is seeking an AML Analyst to support client due diligence, AML checks and regulatory compliance across the firm. This permanent, full-time role offers exposure to AML/CTF processes and a path to develop specialist expertise in financial crime within a leading national law firm.

You will work with stakeholders, review onboarding documentation, contribute to risk assessments and help maintain compliant records.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years' relevant experience in a legal, compliance, risk, financial services, or professional services environment.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our AML Operations team as an AML Analyst. This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney office and is ideally suited to someone looking to build a career in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), financial crime and compliance. Whether you are a recent law graduate, junior lawyer, compliance professional, or someone with a genuine interest in AML and regulatory compliance, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise in a growing and highly sought-after field.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the firm, you will play an important role in supporting AML and client due diligence processes, helping to ensure the firm meets its Tranche 2 AML/CTF obligations while maintaining exceptional service standards. You will gain exposure to a broad range of compliance matters and develop valuable expertise in an increasingly important and specialised area of law and professional services.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting client due diligence, verification and AML checks
• Reviewing and assessing onboarding documentation for new clients and matters

About you

You are a motivated and inquisitive individual with a strong interest in AML, regulatory compliance, financial crime or risk management. You enjoy analytical work, have excellent attention to detail and are keen to build your career in a specialised and growing field.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A genuine interest in Anti-Money Laundering, financial crime prevention, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to work with confidential information
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Up to 2 years' relevant experience in a legal, compliance, risk, financial services, or professional services environment
• A law degree or qualifications in criminology, business, commerce, risk, compliance or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Prior AML experience is not required. We encourage applications from graduates and junior professionals who are keen to learn and develop a long-term career in this field.
