Job summary

Portland District Health is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to deliver safe personal and clinical care under supervision within acute, sub-acute and outpatient programs. You’ll support the Allied Health Practitioner and contribute to patient health and wellbeing.

Applicants should hold a Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant, have hospital experience, and show strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant from an Australian registered training organisation.
• Hospital experience is essential.
• Specialisation in an allied health clinical practice area.
• Sound knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of duties to support allied health practitioners.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective personal care and clinical care under supervision.
• Work with Allied Health Team in acute, sub-acute and outpatient programs.
• Perform clinical support and administrative duties to assist the Allied Health Practitioner.
