Norton Gold Fields Limited is seeking an Open Pit Ancillary Operator at our Binduli/Golden Cities sites in Western Australia. You will safely move ore and waste with heavy equipment, follow dig plans, and participate in safety checks and risk assessments.

Candidates should have substantial mining experience and a WA Class C licence. The role offers a permanent, full-time path with site allowances and health cover, plus a safe, team‑driven work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of all-rounder experience and 2 years mining experience.
• Current WA Class C Driver’s Licence (Essential).
• Open-pit/mining experience is desirable.
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of open-pit mining equipment.
• Familiarity with listed machinery: dump trucks, graders, wheel loaders, dozers, excavators.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate large mining equipment to move ore and waste from pit to dumping areas.
• Interpret survey instructions and dig plans.
• Complete Take 5 and JSA risk assessments daily.
• Use good judgment to select procedures for safe operations.
• Complete machine challenge evaluations.
• Provide clear directions when working with other operators.
• Minimise disruptions to loading and haulage.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As an Open Pit Ancillary Operator at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to safely drive large mining equipment to move extracted materials including ore and waste rock from the mining pit to dumping areas. This role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork for efficient mining operations.

• Operate excavators/dozers/loaders/graders/trucks such as 1250 Komatsu, Komatsu WA900, CAT988 or 992 wheel loader, D10 dozers, Cat 14 & 16 M graders, Komatsu 1500, 785 truck; CAT 777, 785, 789 trucks and water carts.
• Accurately interpret and apply survey instructions and dig plans.
• Complete daily Take 5 and JSA risk assessments for task safety.
• Use good judgment to select and improve correct procedures for safe and efficient operations.
• Competently complete machine challenge evaluations.
• Give clear directions when working with other machinery operators.
• Minimise disruptions to loading and haulage.

ABOUT YOU

• At least 12 months of all-rounder experience and 2 years of mining experience (Essential).
• Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
• Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of Open-Pit mining equipment.
• Good understanding of the following machines:
  • Dump Trucks: Komatsu 1500, 785; CAT 777F , 789D , 775F, Water Carts (or other similar machinery in dimension)
  • Graders: CAT 16M , 18M Graders
  • Wheel loader: Komatsu WA900, CAT988 or 992. Prefer to have crusher experience. (Desirable)
  • Dozers: CAT D10T – D10T2 Dozers (Desirable)
  • Excavators: Komatsu PC1250 or Hitachi 2600
