Job summary

Australian Financial Complaints Authority is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge business problems and engineering execution. You will embed with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-enabled, scalable technology solutions and rapid experimentation across AFCA’s Digital Platforms.

The role emphasises collaboration with product, data and architecture teams to drive measurable customer outcomes and to champion responsible AI practices. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in software engineering, solution engineering, AI engineering or data engineering.
• Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Experience deploying cloud-based applications and integrations.
• Strong problem solving and design capabilities.
• Experience with front-end development and AI/automation workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to uncover opportunities for AI, automation and digital enablement.
• Translate complex challenges into practical technical solutions across Digital Platforms.
• Design, build and deploy prototypes, PoCs and production apps.
• Develop integrations across enterprise platforms and cloud services.
• Create AI-enabled solutions using large language models, agents and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data and architecture teams to scale solutions.
• Drive rapid experimentation and value realisation.
• Champion responsible AI, security and governance practices.
