Job summary

XPT Software in Australia is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to own the technical design for agentic AI. You will translate business requirements into secure, scalable agent solutions and set patterns that ensure governance and reuse across platforms.

Working with AI Workflow Analyst, you will orchestrate agents, connect to systems and data, and guide AI Developers while upholding ISO 42001 and NIST AI RMF compliance.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in solution/software architecture, including AI/ML, automation or integration-heavy work.
• Track record designing enterprise integrations across several systems using APIs, events and data pipelines.
• Hands-on knowledge of AI and agent platforms such as Azure AI or Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio or Power Platform.
• Strong security architecture background covering identity, least privilege and data protection.
• Experience setting reusable patterns, standards and reference architectures for a delivery team.
• Judgement balancing speed of delivery with reliability, scalability and governance.

Job description

Client is building a digital workforce: AI agents that carry out everyday business processes from start to finish, rather than just drafting or summarising them. Working alongside teams in Operations, Safety, Procurement, EPMO and Commercial, the Agentic AI program looks for the repetitive, queue-based and approval-heavy work that fills people’s days and rebuilds it so agents handle the routine steps while people stay focused on the decisions that need judgement. It is being rolled out in stages, from everyday Copilots to knowledge agents and then fully automated workflows, with a person kept in the loop on every decision that matters and clear governance and security around all of it.

About the role

You own the technical design for agentic AI. Working hand in hand with the AI Workflow Analyst, you turn business requirements into agent solutions that are secure, scalable and reusable, and you set the patterns that let agents run reliably and stay under central governance instead of springing up as shadow AI.

Key responsibilities

• Take the requirements and redesigned workflows from the AI Workflow Analyst and turn them into full technical designs.
• Design how agents are orchestrated and how they connect to systems, data and the points where a human steps in.
• Set and look after the enterprise patterns, standards and reusable building blocks for agent design.
• Design with security first: least-privilege access, a clear split between orchestration and system execution, and secure prompt handling.
• Make sure solutions line up with Client Airport’s AI governance, including the AI Register, AI Impact Assessments, risk-tiered controls, ISO 42001 and the Australian Voluntary AI Standards.
• Guide and quality-check the AI Developers, review builds for reliability, scalability and compliance, and make the build-or-buy and platform calls.

Skills & experience required

• At least eight years in solution or software architecture, including AI or machine learning, automation or integration-heavy work.
• A track record designing enterprise integrations across several systems, using APIs, events and data pipelines.
• Hands-on knowledge of AI and agent platforms such as Azure AI or Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio or Power Platform, and agent-orchestration frameworks.
• A strong security architecture background covering identity, least privilege and data protection.
• Experience setting reusable patterns, standards and reference architectures for a delivery team to follow.
• The judgement to balance speed of delivery against reliability, scalability and governance.
• Clear communication that bridges business needs and technical design and carries stakeholders along.
• An architecture certification such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience with responsible-AI or AI governance frameworks (ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF).
• A background in aviation, operations or another regulated or critical-infrastructure setting.
