Job summary

Horizon Digital in Perth, Western Australia, is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to take technical ownership of one or more engineering teams, delivering AI and software for clients from Tier One enterprises to smaller engagements. You will set the technical direction, coach your team, and champion AI-assisted development, helping shape how a team works, not just their output.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience including reviews, objectives and difficult conversations.
• Hands-on experience across Python, TypeScript, React and AWS with Terraform, plus React Native, Flutter or PHP.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, linting and monitoring as standard practice.
• Experience embedding AI across a team and defining AI coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more engineering teams, owning technical direction and project estimates.
• Coach and grow your team with reviews, pairing and guidance, and manage objectives.
• Set architecture, security, tooling and deployment early in engagements and make the final technical call.
• Contribute production code and uphold standards on code review, testing, CI/CD and monitoring.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development and act as the quality gate for libraries.
• Represent the senior technical voice with clients and protect relationships when issues arise.
