Job summary

RWS is seeking contributors for AI conversation recording on a freelance basis. Work from home with flexible, task-based scheduling, approximately 2–4 hours daily. Start immediately and earn 21 USD per hour for recording and annotation tasks that help improve speech recognition and AI models.

Contributors will recording natural speech, annotate data, and provide metadata per project guidelines, using a quiet setup and reliable internet. Prior data-annotation experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Native-level English (Australia) with authentic pronunciation and clear enunciation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide accurate annotations and metadata.
• Ability to understand and follow project guidelines and recording instructions.

Responsibilities

• Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech following project guidelines.
• Capture speech from approved real-life situations (workplace conversations or casual discussions).
• Complete conversational speech tasks (one-on-one or two-person) with AI or machine-based systems.
• Annotate collected speech data according to provided instructions.
• Provide metadata and information for each recording.

Help Shape the Future of AI

This short project offers an opportunity to evaluate and improve speech recognition and conversational AI technologies by providing spontaneous speech collected from real-life situations.

How Your Recordings Will Be Used

The collected recordings, annotations, and related metadata will be used to evaluate the spontaneous speech capabilities of speech-enabled AI models. The compiled data may be reviewed for quality and incorporated into datasets used for research, development, testing, and improvement of AI systems.

What You’ll Do

• Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech in accordance with the project guidelines
• Participate in or capture speech from approved real-life situations, such as workplace conversations or casual one-on-one discussions
• Complete individual or two-person conversational speech tasks, or participate in voice or voice-text interactions with an AI or machine-based system
• Annotate collected speech data according to the instructions provided
• Provide the required information and metadata related to each recording

What We’re Looking For

• Native-level fluency in English (Australia)
• Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use
• Advanced level of English to understand written instructions
• Contributors must not imitate dialects or accents that are not their own
• Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required
• Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata.
• Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions.

Technical Requirements

• Ability to access and use an online recording platform
