Job summary

ECS Botanics MC Pty Ltd, located in Murrabit West, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Agronomist to join the cultivation team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on crop planning, cultivation, monitoring, and continuous improvement within a GMP environment.

You will lead trials, analyse data, support crop yield and quality, and contribute to compliance and innovation in medicinal cannabis production. A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and relevant accreditations are required.

ECS Botanics MC Pty Ltd Agronomist – Medicinal Cannabis Location: Murrabit West, Victoria Position: Full-Time, On-Site Company: ECS Botanics MC Pty Ltd Salary range: $80,000- $90,000 Excluding Super Join Australia’s Leading Medicinal Cannabis Cultivator ECS Botanics is seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our cultivation team at Murrabit West, Victoria. This is a unique opportunity to work within one of Australia’s largest medicinal cannabis cultivation and GMP manufacturing operations, contributing directly to crop performance, quality, compliance and innovation. This is a hands‑on role for an agronomist who understands commercial crop production and can apply technical expertise to medicinal cannabis cultivation in a highly regulated environment.

Mandatory Requirements Applicants must meet both of the following requirements: 1. Local Residency Requirement You must currently live within reasonable commuting distance of Murrabit West or be prepared to permanently relocate to the local area.

This is an on‑site operational role and is not suitable for remote, FIFO or DIDO arrangements . 2. Medicinal Cannabis Experience Required You must have previous professional experience working within a medicinal cannabis cultivation operation .

Applications from candidates without medicinal cannabis cultivation experience will not be considered.

About the Role

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will provide agronomic support across all aspects of crop planning, cultivation, monitoring and optimisation. You will analyse crop performance, interpret data, support cultivation activities and drive continuous improvements in yield, potency and quality.

The role also involves planning and conducting research trials and providing recommendations to senior management.

Task & Responsibilities

• Monitor crop growth, development and plant health.
• Determine nutrient requirements and support fertilis er programs.
• Conduct soil, water and plant tissue sampling and analysis.
• Lead Integrated Pest Management activities, including pest identification and biological control programs.
• Support irrigation, planting, fertiliser application and harvest planning.
• Assist with canopy management practices, including pruning, topping and training.
• Conduct potency testing and crop performance assessments.
• Coordinate cultivation trials and analyse trial data.
• Develop and improve cultivation protocols and procedures.
• Maintain GMP and GACP documentation and compliance records.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management.

Qualification & Experience

• Essential Previous medicinal cannabis cultivation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or an equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of full-time employment within the last five years working as an Agronomist or in a closely related field.
• Strong agronomic knowledge and analytical capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced problem‑solving and data interpretation skills.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly Regarded Experience in regulated medicinal cannabis environments.
• Crop nutrition and soil interpretation accreditation.
• Chemical spray application accreditation.
• First Aid qualification.
• Experience with GMP and GACP systems.
• Experience conducting agronomic trials and research programs.
