Job summary

Elders Rural Services Australia Limited in Ayr is seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our branch on a permanent full-time basis. You will be a trusted advisor to our cropping clients, providing practical agronomic guidance and supporting planning, product selection, and adoption of new technologies both in-field and in-store.

This hands-on, relationship-focused role requires strong knowledge of cropping systems, ability to build client relationships, and a proactive approach to promoting

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in agricultural science, agronomy or related field.
• Experience in broadacre agronomy, product sales, or crop consulting.
• Strong technical knowledge of cropping systems and sustainable input planning.
• Proficient with digital farm management systems for planning and recording recommendations.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with broadacre cropping clients.
• Provide tailored agronomic advice across chemical, fertiliser, seed and soil health.
• Conduct in-field assessments and deliver crop monitoring and planning services.
• Develop seasonal programmes and input plans to support on-farm success.
• Identify opportunities to grow your client base and cross-sell Elders products and services.
• Stay informed on local agronomic trends, R&D, and emerging technologies.
