Job summary

Blackbook Executive Pty is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a food manufacturing site in Laverton, Melbourne VIC. The role runs 3pm–11pm, Monday to Friday, with pay of $63.25 per hour including 15% afternoon shift loading.

Overtime is plentiful for those who want it, in a fast-paced production environment focused on reliability and safe operations. You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance, diagnose mechanical faults, and implement repairs to keep production running

Qualifications

• Must be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter.
• Experience in industrial or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns and implement effective repairs.
• Complete mechanical repairs, overhauls and equipment adjustments.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain smooth operations.
• Follow all workplace health, safety and food manufacturing hygiene standards.
