Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a reliable and experienced nanny to help care for two boys aged 2 and 4 in Newcastle, NSW. The role is 12 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm–7:30pm, with shared evening routine when dad is home.

Responsibilities include collecting from daycare, playing, reheating dinners, bath time, bedtime, light tidying, and a midweek load of washing. WWCC and a safe driving record are required; first aid/childcare qualification is highly regarded.

We're a friendly, easy-going family looking for a reliable, kind and experienced nanny to help care for our two boys (aged 2 and 4) after daycare. This is a long-term, ongoing position for someone who wants to become a trusted part of our boys' week. The hours are Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm–7:30pm (12 hours a week). Dad is usually home by around 5:30–6:00pm, so much of the evening routine is shared — you won't be doing bath, dinner and bedtime for two little ones entirely on your own.

Key responsibilities

Collecting the boys from daycare (a 5-minute drive — we provide a car with car seats)

Playing with the boys and keeping them happily occupied

Reheating and serving their dinner (meals are pre-prepped for you)

Bath time and the bedtime routine

A light end-of-day tidy of the playroom and kitchen — and encouraging the boys to help pack away too

Putting on one midweek load of the boys' washing

About you

Solid experience caring for young children, including nappy changes, bathing and settling to bed

Someone looking for a steady, long-term role rather than a short-term fill-in

A current Working With Children Check (WWCC)

A safe driver, with current driver's licence and confidence driving with children in the car

A current first aid/CPR certificate or childcare qualification would be highly regarded
