Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking an Advisor (Transport Security) to deliver outcomes supporting the Transport Security Program of Work across Queensland’s transport network.

You will manage projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and provide expert advice on protective security issues, policy, and processes to strengthen security posture and resilience.

Qualifications

• Manage assigned projects and tasks to ensure quality outputs within predetermined timeframes.
• Collaborate, facilitate, and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to build organisational resilience.
• Provide professional and timely advice to senior management on protective security related issues, policy, strategies, systems and processes.
• Support broader team objectives across Transport Security and TNSR.
• Other accountabilities and tasks as directed.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects and tasks to ensure quality outputs within predetermined timeframes, in accordance with approved scope, performance indicators and quality standards.
• Collaborate, facilitate, and coordinate collective efforts across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve and build organisational resilience across a range of security threats and risks.
• Provide professional and timely advice to senior management or customers on protective security related issues, policy, strategies, systems, and processes.
• Support broader team objectives, across Transport Security and TNSR.
• Other accountabilities and tasks as reasonably directed.

Job description

The Transport Network Security & Resilience (TNSR) Branch has a state-wide focus on the coordination of TMR's emergency management and transport security framework contributing to assurance, insight, and advice to enhance the security and resilience of the Queensland transport network and systems for everyone.

The Transport Security Team

• guides and supports TMR to enhance its security posture and culture through a protective security framework
• enables TMR to undertake its roles and responsibilities under relevant Acts, Regulations & Arrangements.

The Purpose Of The Advisor (Transport Security) Is To Deliver a Range Of Outcomes To Support The Transport Security Program Of Work Which Includes

• Administration of the Transport Security (Counter-Terrorism) Act 2008.
• Facilitation of a Transport Precinct Security Program
• Facilitation of the TMR Protective Security Framework.
