About the role

Ready to grow your health & safety career and make a real impact? If you're passionate about people, curious by nature, and keen to help leaders create safer workplaces, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a broader HSSE environment for 12 months due to internal mobility.

As our Advisor – Health & Safety, you’ll play a key role in building safe, healthy and proactive work environments across multiple parts of the Origin business. You’ll partner closely with operational leaders, influence positive safety behaviours, and support both day-to-day HSSE activities and longer-term strategic improvement initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone looking to expand their experience and be involved in meaningful HSSE projects.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and support the implementation of health and safety strategies, providing expert guidance on risk management, overseeing incident investigations, and ensuring continuous improvement in HSSE and safety initiatives
  • Support leaders by providing advice, conducting site visits and safety conversations.
  • Support operational leaders to carry out their obligations through the implementation of Origin’s HSSE Management System
  • Coach operational leaders on safety conversations and control verification discussions.
  • Guide operational leaders through the incident investigation process, helping them identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through strategic HSSE initiatives and project work.
  • Promote proactive and positive safety culture across all teams supported by this role.
  • Support the development and implementation of health and safety and management plans relevant to the business unit and provide advice to the business about relevant safety legislation across multiple States of Australia.
Qualifications

  • Relevant safety qualification (Cert IV or higher).
