Job summary

Chaos1 Pty seeks a mission-first Red Team Lead to supervise the Red Team within our Mission Operations line. You will own the adversary threat picture, plan tactics, timing and signatures, and lead the red-side safety case for live-fire and electronic warfare events.

You will guide Red Team Specialists on range operations, coordinate with test and evaluation teams, and work with the Defence framework to ensure evidence quality. The role requires outdoor field work and deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operational, reconnaissance, opposing force or uncrewed systems roles with 2+ years leading a small team
• CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) with RPA ratings or ADF uncrewed aircraft qualification with RePL to be obtained before Chaos1's ReOC
• Demonstrated adversary acumen planning against a defended site and exploiting seams within rules
• Experience with uncrewed aircraft in the field, including FPV or fixed-wing operation
• Experience preparing mission plans, risk assessments and safety cases for live activities
• Ability to lead, train and brief operators, engineers and customers clearly
• Willingness to deploy to Defence sites and ranges in Australia and overseas for extended periods
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a NV1 security clearance
• Onsite at Chaos1's XFACTORY, Sydney; onsite and field role

Responsibilities

• Lead the Red Team on the range through planning, briefing, executing and debriefing every adversary run, in the air and on the ground
• Design the adversary: build threat picture, set courses of action, tactics, timing and signatures, and write injects
• Run reconnaissance and targeting of the system under test; plan runs exposing detection seams
• Fly as remote pilot in command on high-experience profiles, incl. first flights of new threat aircraft
• Prepare flight authorisations, risk assessments and red-side safety case for live-fire and electronic warfare events
• Deliver adversary plan, flight logs, telemetry and video to test teams and brief what was seen and missed
