Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria is seeking Advanced Practitioners in the Community Correctional Services to manage a caseload of mainly complex and high-risk individuals, conduct risk assessments and develop case plans with interventions to reduce reoffending while balancing community safety.

The role requires strong case-management skills, leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate with cross-government and community partners.

Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex and violent offences on post sentence supervision, and prisoners on parole.

About the role:

Advanced Practitioners within the court case management stream of CCS will manage a case load of predominately complex and high-risk individuals who have committed offences. This involves conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, providing interventions, proactively challenging offending behaviours, addressing the underlying factors in offending whilst directing, and monitoring compliance with court order obligations. This role must also support individuals to successfully complete their court orders, while balancing risks to community safety.

Key responsibilities include:
