Job summary

Epworth HealthCare in Richmond is seeking an Acting Associate Nurse Unit Manager for the Oncology & Haematology unit. The role is part-time 0.8 FTE on a 12-month parental leave cover, offering leadership opportunities within a cohesive nursing team.

You will support the Nurse Unit Manager in clinical management of the 38-bed inpatient unit, caring for diverse oncology and haematology cases, with dedicated educators and specialists to support professional development.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous Oncology and/or Haematology nursing experience.
• Chemotherapy experience.
• A strong commitment to patient-centred care and high-quality clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Unit Manager and step into NUM responsibilities as required.
• Contribute to a leadership team focused on an exceptional patient, family and staff experience.
• Provide positive clinical leadership and role modeling.

Job Description

Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Oncology & Haematology | Richmond

• Part-time (0.8 FTE), 12-month parental leave cover
• Join a specialised and supportive Oncology & Haematology team
• Develop your leadership career within a cohesive nursing team

In this part-time, fixed-term role based in Richmond, you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in the clinical management and leadership of our 38-bed inpatient Oncology & Haematology unit.

You’ll join a friendly and experienced team caring for patients across a broad range of oncology and haematology specialties, including breast, lung, colorectal and prostate cancers, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

You’ll be supported by a dedicated Oncology Educator and Clinical Nurse Consultants specialising in breast care, urology, stomal therapy and palliative care.

You will make an impact by:

• Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and stepping into NUM responsibilities as required
• Contributing to a leadership team focused on an exceptional patient, family and staff experience
• Providing positive clinical leadership and role modelling
• Building a supportive, respectful and highly engaged team environment
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives across the unit

About you

You may already be working as an ANUM or be an experienced oncology nurse ready to take the next step into leadership.

You’re a strong communicator with a flexible approach and a genuine ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families. You’re keen to develop your leadership capability and take advantage of mentoring, education and development opportunities.

You will have:
