Job summary

FTI Consulting in Melbourne seeks an Accounts Services Assistant to join the Corporate Finance team. You will handle bookkeeping, banking support and case management for insolvency engagements, supporting client-facing staff across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth practices.

This permanent, full-time role is based in Melbourne or Perth and offers exposure to distressed-asset engagements with cross-practice collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6 months - 2 years' bookkeeping, treasury, accounts or payroll experience.
• Bookkeeping qualifications highly regarded but not essential.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formatting, and simple formulas.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn new systems, processes, and bookkeeping practices.
• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide banking / funds handling / treasury support to CF staff across multiple practices.
• Assist with case management and recording transactions including creating client records, processing receipts/payments and journal entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations, processing payroll and dividend distributions, updating staff/creditor information.
• Draft statutory accounts of receipts and payments and monitor deadlines.
• Prepare / manage periodical control reports / registers.
• Undertake daily bank transaction downloads and assist with closing of client matters.
