Job summary

A regional water corporation in Bendigo seeks an Accounts Officer to manage daily transactional accounting and support effective financial management. Overview of role

The Accounts Officer supports the delivery of accurate and timely financial services by undertaking day-to-day transactional accounting activities.

The role contributes to effective financial management through reconciliations, billing, accounts payable and month-end support, while maintaining strong compliance, customer service and continuous improvement practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer daily accounts and finance functions in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Process sundry billing, accounts payable and end-of-month journals.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit cards.
  • Upload and maintain financial data within the accounting system.
  • Assist with month‑end preparation, queries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and undertake general administrative duties.
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.
  • Comply with all Occupational Health, Safety, environmental and information security requirements.
About you

You are organised, detail-oriented and customer-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team environment.

You will bring
  • Experience in accounts receivable, reconciliations and transactional accounting.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience using computerised financial systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and time‑management abilities.
  • A proactive and "can-do" approach to problem solving.
  • A current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Salary

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement Band 2: $62,475 - $72,897 plus superannuation. Salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
