Job summary

DWA Accounting & Taxation, based in the Albury Wodonga area, is seeking an on-site accounting and taxation professional to join our team. You will deliver accurate financial statements, manage ledgers, and prepare tax returns for a range of clients including individuals, SMSFs and small businesses.

You will work collaboratively with staff, provide advisory insights, ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, and help enhance processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA considered.
• 2+ years of public practice accounting or taxation experience.
• Experience with Xero/MYOB/QuickBooks and advanced Excel.
• Ability to work on-site and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, manage general ledgers, reconcile accounts and review entries for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, SMSFs and trusts.
• Assist with BAS, GST, PAYG and other statutory requirements.
• Analyze financial data, identify variances, and provide insights to clients.
• Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies and ensure adherence to tax standards.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
• Identify client opportunities and provide business advice.
• Conduct taxation planning.
