A reputable accounting firm in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Accountant to prepare tax returns and financial statements while navigating GST and FBT systems. The ideal candidate has over 2 years of experience in an accounting firm and is working towards or has completed a Bachelor of Commerce or CA qualification. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an Accounting firm.
• Progressing towards or completed a Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) or CA qualification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual tax returns, including business schedules and advanced capital gains calculations.
• Prepare financial statements with complete reconciliations of all accounts.
• Handle various leasing arrangements, including accounting and taxation treatment.
• Navigate GST and FBT tax systems, completing Activity Statements and FBT returns.
• Handle employee compliance frameworks, including payroll tax returns.
