Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a recognized Canadian accounting program (preferred).
  • Have an understanding of Canadian construction project accounting processes.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience (required).
  • Proficient in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).
  • Familiar with CRA regulations and policies regarding taxation and submitting payments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Good team communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile financial accounts in QuickBooks.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts.
  • Prepare and process invoices and government remittances (GST/PST, source deductions, etc.).
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures.
  • Generate financial reports and provide summaries for management review.
  • Assist with job/project costing, reporting, strategic planning and analysis.
  • Communicate with vendors, clients, and management regarding financial matters.
  • Support the external accountant during audits or year-end reviews.
