SIG Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Corporate Finance Manager in delivering accurate accounting, tax and compliance across the group. This hands-on role focuses on inter-entity loans, tax consolidation, BAS and payroll, with a 3-day in-office week.

The role requires a tertiary accounting qualification, CA/CPA or progress towards, 5+ years of experience, and advanced Xero/MYOB skills. Based in Melbourne, the role offers a competitive salary plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounting, ideally multi-entity.
• Experience with inter-entity loans and intercompany reconciliations.
• Experience with tax consolidation groups and BAS/IAS lodgement.
• End-to-end payroll experience including STP and payroll tax.
• Advanced Xero and MYOB skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and year-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations across group entities.
• Maintain general ledgers and chart of accounts in Xero and MYOB.
• Prepare reports and schedules for the Corporate Finance Manager.
• Process supplier bills with coding, approvals and payment preparation.
• Monitor accounts inbox and respond to supplier, customer and internal queries.
• Manage accounts receivable including invoicing and reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile inter-entity loan accounts across group entities.

Job description

The Accountant role will support the Corporate Finance Manager in delivering accurate, timely accounting, tax and compliance outcomes across the SIG Group of entities in Land Development. Working at the direction of the Corporate Finance Manager, you will own core group accounting tasks, including inter-entity loans, tax consolidation, BAS and payroll. This is a hands-on role for an experienced accountant who takes pride in precise work and wants a part-time position with real responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and year-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations across group entities
• Maintain accurate general ledgers and chart of accounts in Xero and MYOB
• Prepare reports and supporting schedules as directed by the Corporate Finance Manager
• Process incoming supplier bills, including coding, approval and payment preparation in Xero and MYOB
• Monitor and action the accounts email inbox, responding to supplier, customer and internal queries
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, receipting, debtor follow-up and reconciliations
• Record, reconcile and maintain inter-entity loan accounts across all group entities

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
• CA or CPA qualified, or working towards it
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting role, ideally across a multi-entity group
• Demonstrated experience with inter-entity loans and intercompany reconciliations
• Working knowledge of tax consolidation groups and income tax compliance
• Proven experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS
• End-to-end payroll experience, including STP, superannuation and payroll tax
• Advanced user of Xero and MYOB
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Part-time role with a consistent 3-day in-office week
• Competitive salary of $90,000 FTE pro rata, plus superannuation
