Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a driven, customer-obsessed individual to join the Cloud Sales Center (CSC) team as a Cloud Sales Representative (CSR). The CSC accelerates customer adoption of AWS services through a scalable, agile sales approach that complements our account sales teams — serving customers through a consistent, repeatable go-to-market (GTM) motion across the entire customer journey. As a Cloud Sales Representative in Australia, you will own a geographic territory of named accounts spanning multiple industries. You will act as the CEO of your territory — driving adoption, revenue, and market penetration across your assigned accounts. Your customers will include existing AWS users at different stages of their cloud adoption journey, as well as net-new prospects. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to engage with IT Managers and Technical Decision Makers. You should be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of cloud computing in Australia.

Key job responsibilities
  • Pipeline Generation: Build a programmatic and repeatable motion — across 1:1, 1: few, and 1: many activities (physical and virtual) — to generate qualified pipeline across new and existing customers
  • Sales Execution: Manage full sales cycles including prospecting, discovery, demos, building technical and business cases, negotiating, and closing deals at high velocity
  • Partner Orchestration: Work closely with Scale Partners to define the right partner engagement strategy for your territory, including assigning accounts to partners for prospecting and co-selling through AWS Consulting Partners, Technology Partners, and Distribution Partners
  • Customer Engagement: Engage IT Managers, Technical Decision Makers, and business stakeholders to understand their technology footprint, technical challenges, and business objectives — then propose value-aligned AWS solutions
  • Campaign Execution: Conceptualise and lead 1:many programmatic campaigns, sales plays, and initiatives to drive pipeline creation and progression, leveraging Marketing and Programs teams
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Demand Generation Representatives (DGRs), Solution Architects (SAs), Partners, Industry Teams, and Specialist Organisations to meet the unique needs of your customers
  • Customer Support: Manage customer support cases including payment, suspension, and MFA issues to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Forecasting & CRM Hygiene: Accurately track activity, forecast pipeline, and manage sales targets in CRM (Salesforce)
  • Leverage Programs: Utilise programs such as MAP Lite and workload-specific funding to manage higher-value deals, with guidance from your Manager and PSM
A day in the life

As a CSR, you are responsible for growing consumption of current and new AWS services within your territory. You will apply your sales and technical experience to proactively engage customers and help them harness the power of cloud technology to meet their business objectives. A typical day includes prospecting into new accounts, progressing active opportunities through discovery and demo calls, collaborating with DGRs and partners on pipeline campaigns, and closing deals. You will generate and maintain active engagements with customers and prospects, consistently meeting and exceeding sales quotas.

You will be part of a high-performing, collaborative team that values learning and innovation. We move fast, support each other, and celebrate wins together.
