Job summary

National Heavy Vehicle Regulator in Brisbane seeks an Access Facilitator to support the permit application process, providing guidance on heavy vehicles, infrastructure and regulatory requirements to enable efficient case management.

You will review application processes, contribute to demand management strategies, and build strong relationships with industry, customers and government partners while delivering accurate information and managing risks.

National Heavy Vehicle Regulator – Brisbane QLD

As Access Facilitator you will perform a key role in supporting the delivery of an efficient and accurate permit application process including alignment to business priorities of safety and compliance and provide advice as it relates to heavy vehicles, infrastructure and technology solutions to support complex applications and case management

Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Review and progress application processes across vehicle classes and combinations whilst ensuring that they are progressed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist with development and implementation of demand management strategies to ensure the NHVR delivers a cost-effective service to its customers, the heavy vehicle industry and our government partners.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with industry representatives, customers, and government partners.
• Contribute to advice to the Access Leadership Team with the aim of enhancing vehicle access to the transport network at a national level.
• Contribute and participate in negotiations, customer complaints and professional relationships with government agencies (federal, state and local), industry, community and other stakeholders.
• Provide advice to customers about the vehicle permit application process, vehicle standards, and regulatory requirements including the HVNL, road, vehicle and travel conditions.
• Deliver exceptional service to external and internal stakeholders and customers via the provision of accurate information in a clear and effective manner and ensure risks are identified and managed.

This role is being offered as a2-year maximum term contract and is open to candidates across Brisbane & Adelaide.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Highly regarded:

• Experience within a customer/client focused commercial organisation.
• Qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. business management, transport and logistics, project management, leadership)
• Understanding of the Heavy Vehicle National Legislation and experience in its application to the Heavy Vehicle industry.

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as the national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. The NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistences across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.
