Job summary

Far West Local Health District is offering a Permanent Full Time Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner position in Balranald NSW. The role involves providing holistic, culturally sensitive health services to Aboriginal clients and supporting nursing staff in the Emergency Department and MPS Inpatient Unit.

The position offers an annual remuneration range of $67,612 to $97,730 plus superannuation, salary packaging, living expenses and meal/entertainment allowances.

• Provide flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health services to Aboriginal clients and the community, to achieve better health outcomes and better access to health services for Aboriginal people.
• Support and assist nursing staff in the Emergency Department and MPS Inpatient Unit (Residential Aged care /Respite/ Sub- Acute Care).

Job description

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.
