Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking an Aboriginal Health Unit Project Officer for a full-time, fixed-term position until 21 September 2027. Based in Gippsland, you will support the Aboriginal Health Unit with project coordination, data reporting and stakeholder engagement to improve Aboriginal health outcomes.

You will work closely with the Aboriginal Health Unit Manager to deliver the Aboriginal Employment Plan, safety initiatives and culturally safe programs across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience providing administrative, project or program support in a professional environment.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis and reporting to support organisational outcomes.
• An understanding of cultural safety principles and the cultural determinants of health affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to supporting positive outcomes for Aboriginal communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level administrative and project support to the Aboriginal Health Unit, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minute-taking and support for daily operational activities.
• Coordinate, analyse and report on health and employment data to support informed decision-making and organisational reporting requirements.
• Support the implementation and review of LRH's Aboriginal Employment Plan, working collaboratively with People & Culture, Education and Training, and other key stakeholders.
• Assist in the delivery of Aboriginal Cultural Safety initiatives, Fixed Grant activities and associated financial and reporting requirements.
• Support the coordination of the Aboriginal Traineeship Program, including onboarding, orientation and engagement with education providers, Registered Training Organisations and community stakeholders.
• Contribute to quality improvement projects, cultural safety initiatives and activities that support LRH's Aboriginal Health priorities and organisational objectives.
