Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking an Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker for ongoing roles in Armidale, Glen Innes, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri, Tamworth. The position requires a diploma or degree and focuses on supporting Aboriginal families and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children. Competitive salary of $89,934 – $116,969 pa plus superannuation. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Flexible work conditions and training opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with the Aboriginal community.
• Valid driver’s licence and paid working with children clearance number.

Responsibilities

• Work sensitively with children and families.
• Engage in complex problem solving.
• Develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
• Participate in individual and group supervision.
