Role detailsThe Child Development Services at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker to join their team on a permanent basis.For information on how to apply and the mandatory requirements for this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Your opportunityThe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (CDS) role:Functions within the multi-disciplinary team to promote and deliver efficient, effective, clinically relevant, culturally safe and appropriate client outcomes in the specific area of early childhood development.Supports in the provision of comprehensive, holistic care services delivered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.Provides health care services within the community settings across the HHS.About the TeamThe Child Development Service (CDS) provides transdisciplinary paediatric allied health assessment services to children with complex developmental needs in order to support families to build on their understanding of their child's developmental delay or disability. The CDS also assists families to understand the future supports and interventions required to support their child's current and anticipated future needs, supporting families to transition to relevant services such as early intervention and community programs. Community paediatric allied health services provide specialist input for children who present with a range of clinical, diagnostic and developmental presentations.About our Hospital and Health ServiceMackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff.
