Job summary

Queensland Government seeks an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner for Biloela Hospital to deliver culturally responsive care in a multidisciplinary team. You will develop health and case management plans, connect with community voices, and mentor trainee practitioners to build cultural confidence among staff.

You will educate and lead health promotion programs, promoting safe practice and strong workplace values aligned with Queensland Health.

Qualifications

  • Hold current registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with the ATSIHPBA (AHPRA), plus a Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent.
  • Bring strong local cultural knowledge, practice with cultural respect and safety, and confidently share knowledge through cultural awareness support and training for health staff.
  • Have experience delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care to individuals and families, focusing on quality and continually improving services.
  • Be confident working with different people and communication styles, using health information and Telehealth systems.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally responsive care, develop healthcare and case management plans, and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients on their health journey.Connect with community. Support other health professionals to build cultural confidence and competence, while mentoring and developing Trainee and emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners.Educate, lead and inspire.
