Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions is offering the 2027 Livestock Career Development Program in South West Queensland. This 24‑month program combines on-the-job training with four leadership workshops, mentored experiences, and an in-house Certificate in Livestock Marketing.

Participants will work across saleyard and branch settings, gaining practical skills in selling, client relationships and livestock operations, with strong development support and mobility opportunities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Year 12 is required.
• Minimum 24 months' experience in the Agricultural industry, ideally Livestock.
• Willingness to relocate during or after the program.
• Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident; temporary visas not eligible.
• Vaccinated or willing to receive Q Fever vaccination.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills and leadership potential.
• Genuine interest in the Livestock Industry and desire to learn.

About the program:

Our Nutrien Ag Solutions2027 Livestock Career Development program will provide the skills and training you need to be a future leader or technical expert within the Livestock Industry. The program is designed for top talent to gain valuable experience in all aspects of the Livestock activity while completing an in-house Certificate in Livestock Marketing.

During the 24-month program (roles are all permanent), all Livestock Trainees will be involved in four leadership and skill-building workshops, receive on the ground training, and have mentors assigned to you to provide ongoing support. As a part of our Livestock Career Development Program, you’ll have the opportunity to work in both saleyard and branch environments, being mentored and guided by our experienced livestock employees and leaders, learning effective selling and relationship building techniques.

• Livestock skills – next generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, Auctions Plus, auctioneering, wool technical and market requirements and emerging technology.

Who are we looking for?

To be considered for the 2027 Livestock Career Development Program you will have a strong desire to learn and succeed in the Livestock industry, excellent customer service skills and strong negotiation abilities.

In addition, you will demonstrate:

• Successful completion of Year 12
• Worked successfully for a minimum of 24 months within the Agricultural industry, ideally within Livestock.
• Be willing to relocate at the conclusion or throughout the program.
• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident – please note that temporary VISA holders are not eligible for this program.
• Be vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
• The ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills and leadership potential.
• Genuine interest and desire to work and learn about the Livestock Industry.
