Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking Mechanical Engineer Interns for Summer 2026 in Sydney, Australia. This paid, in-person, 12-week internship offers hands-on prototyping, design reviews, and hardware testing under guidance from senior engineers.

You will use first principles physics, visit vendors, and transition prototypes to production while developing CAD drawings and applying fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field.
• Must be returning to school after internship to continue studies for at least one quarter/semester.
• Ability to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Available for in-person 12-week internship in Sydney in Summer 2026.

We are seeking Mechanical Engineer Interns for Summer 2026! This is a paid, in-person, 12-week internship.

What You’ll Do

• Design & build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.
• Present design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, design & execute hardware test plans.
• Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision.
• Travel to test sites and vendors as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or any related field.
• Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
• Ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance
• Ability to complete an in-person 12-week internship in our Sydney office in summer 2026.

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate project team or laboratory experience.
• Currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate engineering program.
• CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high-quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards.
• Demonstrated hands‑on fabrication skills.
• High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles.
• Prior internship experience and/or leadership on a collegiate project team or laboratory.
• Experience in NX/Teamcenter and/or Solidworks.
• Experience with FEA and/or CFD analysis tools.
• Ability to integrate electrical components into designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc.).
• Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing.
