Job summary

Discover Nursing Australia is seeking a friendly Disability Support Worker to provide consistent 1:1 support to a female participant with a physical disability in Black Springs, NSW 2787. The role covers cleaning, meal prep and companionship at home for two days per week, 10:00 am–1:00 pm, with days to be agreed.

You will assist transfers using a standing turntable and follow the participant’s plan. Applicants should have Certificate III in Individual Support, NDIS Worker Screening, police

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification.
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
• Australian working rights.
• Australian Business Number (ABN) or willingness to obtain one.
• Relevant manual handling and transfer experience.
• Professional, reliable and participant-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Household cleaning and domestic assistance.
• Meal preparation in line with the participant’s preferences.
• Companionship, conversation and social engagement.
• Assistance with everyday household routines.
• Mobility and transfer assistance using the standing transfer turntable, following the support plan.
• Encouraging independence, dignity and choice.
• Maintaining accurate progress notes and support documentation.
